TWO EXCERPTS ON BOOKS FROM BULLETIN BOARD Navajo Evaluators Look at Rough Rock Demonstration School A booklet entitled Navajo Evaluators Look at Rough Rock Demonstration School is now available from the school, Chinle, Arizona (86503). The booklet was prepared by Samuel Billison, Herbert Blatachford, Sr., John Y. Begaye, and Henry Gatewood, II. U of A Press Issues New Pima Legends: Two dozen tales to delight young and old have been gathered by Anna Moore Shaw into Pima Indian Legends, published by the University of Arizona Press. Mrs. Shawa, a full-blooded Pima, realized that these legends would be lost, and began writing them down in 1930. They were told to her by her late father, Josiah Moore I. Drawings in the 111-page, paper-bound volume were done by a fellow Pima, Matt Tashquinth. The book retails for $2.95 [advertised as this price in the October, 1969, issue of Journal of American Indian Education]. |
