NEW ART AND PICTORIAL BOOKS ISSUED The University of Washington Press has issued a number of handsome new art and pictoral books on Native Americans of the Northwest coast, especially in the British Columbia area. Kwakiult Art, by Audrey Hawthorn, is a 320 page book with 32 pages in color and 410 black and white illustrations. Robert Davidson: Haida Printmaker by Hilary Stewart has 78 color photos on its 112 pages. Ulli Steltzer and Catherine Kerr collaborated on Coast of Many Faces, with 230 duotone photos. Objects of Bright Pride (Northwest coast Indian Art from the American Museum of Natural History), by Allen Wardwell, and Native American Art in the Denver Art Museum by Richard Conn are two fine catalogs.
