These Reference Books Won't "Just Take Shelf Space"

A 320-page Bibliography of Contemporary North American Indians, selected and compiled by William H. Hodge of the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh, has been published by Interland Publishing, Inc., 799 Broadway, New York, NY 10003. The volume contains 27 separate categories cross-indexed by tribe, state and geographical region, and lists for $27.50.

A virtual law reference library in one volume is the newly published Cumulative Catalogue, issued by the National Indian Law Library (a special project of the Native American Rights Fund). The Catalogue includes all NILL holdings to date, and the price of $20 includes quarterly supplements through September. Order from the NILL, 1506 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80302.

Governing Bodies of Federally Recognized Indian Groups is a new publication of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The 32-page booklet lists alphabetically all Indian government bodies, the names of their presiding officers and addresses, and may be obtained from the BIA, Washington, D.C. 20245.

The Information System for Native American Media is a service of the National Indian Education Association, 3036 University Ave., SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414, and provides an extensive retrieval service from thousands of sources for a small charge.
